She brings a wealth of experience in physician practice management, particularly in the areas coding, reimbursement, and compliance. She’s a former licensed EMT-B, holds bachelor’s degree/clinical training in medical technology [MT(ASCP)] and has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Iowa.
With coding certification by both the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and the American College of Medical Coding Specialists (ACMCS), Joan is also one of the nation’s first certified healthcare compliance consultants (2000). She’s also been an active member Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) since 1993.
