Jennie Hitchcock

Jennie Hitchcock works with healthcare organizations to improve operational performance and, as a consequence, the bottom line. Her diverse skill set and extensive experience in the healthcare industry enable her to not only tackle the toughest problems facing healthcare organizations today, but also to take successful organizations to the next level.

Jennie’s experience with non-physician practitioners in the physician practice setting includes recruiting and managing NPPs as well as the design of clinical workflows to maximize the positive impact that an NPP can have on a medical practice.

In addition to her operational experience with NPPs she has also addressed the unique coding, compliance and regulatory challenges that have emerged as NPPs have become more prevalent in the United States. She has designed and implemented reimbursement, compliance and documentation programs for dozens of physician practices, including many that employ NPPs.

In her experience as an expert witness and in legal and litigation support she has worked on a number of matters directly related to the NPP regulatory environment; most notably on a whistleblower case in which a large physician organization was subject to a government audit of their billing practices for NPP services.

Jennie has presented numerous compliance, regulatory and practice manager topics to national audiences, including presentations at national conferences, such as the national American Health Information Management Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Medical Group Management Association and the National Summit on Physician Billing and Coding. She has written for and contributed to a number of national physician-related publications.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and is a Certified Coding Specialist – Physician from AHIMA and a Certified Medical Practice Executive from MGMA.
